WELCOME TO BLACKBUSHBAND.COM
NEWS UPDATES
06.28.2009
Update time! Tomorrow we will review the final result of the mixing. Fredrik has put down a great load of work, and the songs sounds really good. We will be proud to release this effort, and as everybody always state when it's time for a new release, it's the best work we've ever done.
The announced show at SAND will not happen. It has something to do with some issue at the venue, economy or some other crap like that. Doesn't really matter I guess. Point is the show is cancelled. We're still on for TURBIN though, so all is good. TURBIN will be one hell of a show and we look forward to seeing you guys.
The show we did in Borås is likely to go down as the weirdest thing in Blackbush history. Due to some delays, we arrived at the park where the event was held like 15 minutes before we were supposed to be on stage. Once there, we had like 10 seconds to get on stage to set up our stuff. Fine, we're good at that stuff, so no problem. The stage was weird in itself, as it actually was some kind of gazebo, with the audience forming a half-circle around it. So, we're surrounded. Some sort of dansband was supposed to play after our set, so part of the crowd was middleaged dansbandslisteners. Strange feeling. Anyway, we played four out of the five songs from the EP, and it felt great, so we've now done the baptism of fire. Be prepared for some great shit at TURBIN!

The mixing is close to finished now as Fredrik is doing the final magic touches as we speak. We decided to scratch one of the songs from the EP for now, so we're looking at a five track release. The song in question will go through a bit of a remake and will probably surface again on a later release. Anyway, after mixing, the songs will be sent for mastering. How long that will take is obviously a bit out of our hands, but it's about time we get this thing out in the open. Stay tuned.
A couple of new shows is listed in the live section. Both back home here in our wonderful city of Trollhättan. The first show is at Sand, and the second is during Fallens Dagar at Turbin Festival where we will share the stage with (among others) Dead By April.
Due to some personal circumstances we haven't accepted any shows far away from home during the summer, but we're looking to hit the roads again by fall. Good times coming up friends. Good times.

Today, on this glorious summer day, we will play the Motorcycle Expo in Vänersborg. We hope to see a lot of people out there today. Sun, beer, motorcycles and metal. Pretty good deal, right?

As always, things have been taking longer than expected. However, all the vocals for the upcoming EP are now finalized. Now there is some fine tuning left to do, but basically, the recording is done! We are very happy about this obviously, and we are thrilled with the results. Hopefully you guys will be too when it's time for release. Not too far away now!
We've been confirmed for another festival show in the summer, and also a club show is in the works. We will provide you with info on the dates and venues shortly.
05.10.2009
We are now confirmed for the second outdoor show of the summer. We will return to Borås on the 25th of june to play the "The Kids Are Alright" festival. We look forward to square off with our friends in Borås again.
Unfortunately the Tattoo Meltdown convention we we're set to do in july in Örebro has been cancelled and will not happen this year, so we're not going to Örebro just yet. However we will try to schedule a show there this fall/winter instead. Stay tuned.

We would like to thank all of you who came out to party with us at Backstage Rockbar friday night! You really brought the guns to the battle, ant the reactions we got was beyond our expectations! Thanks also to Peter and Fredda along with the rest of the crew for making our visit extremely enjoyable. You guys rock!
Now we return to the studio to finish up the EP. We failed to get it done for friday night, but it's not too far away now. It's gonna be fucking great too!
We also have a few gigs lining up for the summer, but we'll bring more news on this when we get confirmation.

Thank you Borås! We had an awesome time last night, and judging by the reactions we recieved, you did too. It seems like we're coming back again in the summer for another show, outdoors this time, so you better make sure to keep the rain away and we're sure to enjoy each others company once again.
The recording is almost done. Currently we have a few touch ups to do on the vocals and there is also a bit more guitar work to be done. Then we'll just wait for mix and master and voíla, here we go! We should be able to get it all done before we we enter the stage on our homecoming gig at Backstage in about three weeks, so you better be there to enjoy it!

We'd like to thank all of you who came out to party with us at Backstage Rockbar friday night. You really brought the guns to the battle, and it was great to see the place on fire like that! The reaction we got was beyond our expectations! Thanks a million times, and also a huge thanks to Peter and Fredda along with the rest of the crew who made our visit extremely enjoyable.
We will now return to the studio to finish up the EP. Sadly we didn't get it done in time for friday night, but it's not too far along now. It's gonna be fucking great too!
We have a few gigs lining up for the summer, but it's still too early to bring the news on this. Just keep checking back and we'll get you posted shortly.

First off, thanks to you who came out to the show in Västerås! We premiered another song from the upcoming release, and all the new songs we've played live so far has felt awesome to perform. Also, we really felt like a complete band again with Joakim with us on stage. It's a damn good feeling, and we look forward to him sticking around with us for the long haul!
Second off, the EP release is closing in for real. The bass is completed, so now we look to finalize the guitars and vocals. We are getting really psyched about releasing this new stuff and by the reactions we've gotten so far, people seem to look forward to hearing it as well! Hopefully we'll be able to turn the hometown gig at Backstage Bar into some sort of a release party. We sure as hell hope so.
Also, a few new gigs in April is in the works. We'll have more info on that after the weekend. Now we look forward to join forces with Sonic Syndicate and The Mary Major for the gig in Borås on friday! Hope to see you there!

We're happy to announce that we have a new brother joining up on bass for our shows this spring. His name is Joakim Forsberg, and he is not only our brother in music, but he also has genetic ties to the band being the brother of our drummer Fredrik. We wish to welcome Joakim in the Blackbush family, and we really look forward to tearing up stages with him by our side.
Sadly, some of our touring plans fell apart for various reasons. The gig we set out to do the day after our show in Västerås will not happen at this time, and unless a miracle happens, it's too late to find another gig that night. In other words, Västerås will be a one-off show. We're looking to do a weekend tour up in the capital regions at a later time. We have no dates yet, but as always, we'll keep you posted. Also, the shows with AMMOTRACK back here in our home regions will not happen in April, but it will happen as soon as we get a new date set up.
03.06.2009
Straight as an arrow! These last two days we've laid down the lead vocal tracks on four out of the six songs slated for the EP release. Things are coming along great, and we are really psyched about these songs. Hopefully we'll have the video diary updated shortly for those of you who are interested in following the process.
Also, we're looking to do a few shows alongside the fine young men of metal who call themselves AMMOTRACK. One of these shows is gonna happen here at home in Trollhättan sometime in mid-april. Stay tuned for the exact date and further news on this.
Finally we're waiting for final word on the show we're hoping to do on March 27. It might not be Stockholm, but if we get confirmation, we're looking to play up in those regions on that date. No final news on wheter the Gothenburg show on April 17 will happen yet either, but bare with us. We will bring the news when we get them.
02.11.2009
Things are brewing on the gig front. Looks like we're headed on another trip up to the capital regions. Also, we've decided on a preliminary date with our friends back home in Trollhättan again. It's been a while, so it'll be fun!
We've posted some new dates in the live section. However, the TBA dates are still preliminary, except for the gig in Örebro, which is a done deal as far as the date is concerned. We're seriously looking forward to see you guys on the road!
01.31.2009
Thank you all for coming out to the show in Mellerud! We had a nice time, and the couple of new songs really felt awesome to perform on stage. Also, we should all bow our heads to Mike, who was actually in a very bad shape last physically night, and still came through like the guitar demon he is. That's some serious rock'n'roll for you. Also, big thanks to Kamal Söder who did some great slamming on the bass!
Now we will continue the work with the recording, starting early next week, and just as with the drum sessions, you will be able to follow our progress through a video diary on our myspace.
Next show will hopefully be around late march, and by then we will also have the new EP fresh from the oven. Keep looking in here on the site, and we promise to keep you posted on where we will surface next!
